Hotel & Activities
Can we come for a day to Nomad?
The hotel and pool areas are exclusive to residents at our hotel only. Visitors not staying at the hotel are welcome to dine at the Nomad Beach Bar and Restaurant and to enjoy the adjacent watersports and diving centers, which are accessible to the public.
Do you have a Kids Club or kids entertainment?
The Sands at Nomad does not have a Kids Club but there are a diverse range of sights and activities for children and families to enjoy. We offer guided forest walks, a Marine Education Center, snake shows, a turtle relocation nesting site, watersports activities and beach side entertainment from a talented group of local acrobats. Babysitting services are offered on an hourly or daily basis.
Is it safe and secure in Nomad?
We have 24 hours security on site.
Is there a Doctor on site or on call?
There are three hospitals within a 10km radius. There is also an ambulance service and doctors on call.
What activities can we do in and around Nomad?
The Sands at Nomad has an onsite watersports center and is the main base for Kenya’s leading diving school, Diving the Crab. We also offer yoga classes, spa and beauty treatments, special tasting sessions in our wine cellar, deep sea fishing expeditions, forest walks and visits to an onsite Marine Education Center. Other activities include camel riding, boat rides to a sand island, dolphin spotting and day trips to Chale Island. Guests can also enjoy a workout at nearby tennis courts and a round of golf at an 18-hole championship golf course.
Is there a TV and a minibar in the rooms?
We have a television in the communal lounge of the main building. The rooms do not have TVs. But do have complimentary WiFi. A minibar is available in each room.
How many pools do you have?
There is one fresh water, galana stone swimming pool at Nomad with a depth of 5 meters.
Do you allow pets in the hotel?
Unfortunately, no, as we have a lot of wildlife within our forest and a few resident cats and one dog.
Dining & Meal Plans
Do you offer all-inclusive in The Sands at Nomad:
We offer bed and breakfast, half-board and full-board options from our la carte menus.
Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
Yes, we cater for vegetarians, vegans, gluten free and any allergies. Kindly advise our restaurant manager of your requirements.
Is there a dress code for the evening?
Recommended dress code for dining in our restaurants is smart casual.
Arrivals, Transfers & Payment
How is the procedure for early arrival or late departure?
Guests who arrive early (before 2pm) or who wish to leave after 10am may check in or out of their rooms at their convenience if the room is free. If the room is booked, guests may be able to access one of our day rooms free of charge. These rooms are limited in number and guests are invited to advise us of planned arrival times at the time of booking.
Do you offer transfers from the airport?
Yes, we offer a taxi transfer services at an extra cost from Mombasa and Ukunda airports. An air transfer service from Mombasa to Diani is also available.
Which currencies or credit cards are accepted?
We accept Kenya Schilling, US Dollar, Euro in cash as well as Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
